The Carole & Andrew Harper
Counselling Office

The Counselling Office is a separate point of service, at a different, confidential location than the shelter. This service is offered free of charge  for women and children who are not in need of shelter, but who wish to receive ongoing counselling support by appointment. Our office provides counselling, resources, support and advocacy to women and children who are dealing with conjugal abuse and violence.

We offer a range of counselling services and work collaboratively with women to create a plan. We may also refer to our community partners for appropriate services, if necessary. The needs of women who access our services are varied. Some women are still in their relationship and seek guidance and support; some have left the relationship and need support in moving forward; some are dealing with post-separation abuse; and some are experiencing parenting challenges as well. We offer a specialized program for mothers and children. Click here to learn more about our Supporting Resilience Program.

To make an appointment, please call 514-485-4783. Once an initial telephone conversation is completed, you will be assigned to one of our clinical counsellors and given our confidential address for your first appointment.

We are here to meet you where you are - at any point in your journey toward healing.

During the COVID-19 pandemic we are offering remote counselling by phone or video.

For immediate support call the 24/7 crisis line: 514-731-0833.

Having the counselling services over the phone or at the park has been such a good experience. The commute there and back took almost an hour which just felt like an added stress in my day. It has been great to fit the calls in from home and on my work breaks, which I couldn’t do if I had to go in person. My son also loved his appointments in the park. He always looks forward to seeing [his counsellor] and I can tell he feels so comfortable. I think it has really helped him be receptive and open to the counselling.
