Supporting Resilience Program

Supporting Mothers, Children and Youth Affected by Conjugal Violence

Domestic violence impacts the entire family. One of the pillars of Auberge Shalom is to prevent the cycle of intergenerational violence. Our Supporting Resilience Program can help strengthen the relationship between mother and child by developing a healthy attachment style, strengthening emotional regulation and life skill competencies building. Our welcoming and playful children’s room offers a safe space for children to connect and share. Our counselling room provides comfort and privacy for one-on-one sessions with mothers and youth.

The Supporting Resilience Program offers:

  • Free services to mothers and children, both in shelter and by appointment at our external Carole & Andrew Harper Counselling Office

  • Counselling and support groups

  • Prevention and education

  • Advocacy

  • Free childcare to ensure that mothers can access our services
