Jewish Orthodox Services
Abuse is found in all cultures and religions - including the Jewish community. Auberge Shalom counsellors help women understand and deal with the impact of abuse. Our goal is to provide support and to help women make choices that they deem best for themselves. This might mean leaving the relationship if the client decides it is best and safest to do so or it could mean staying in the relationship and working out a safe and peaceful arrangement.
Operating out of the Carole and Andrew Harper Counselling Office - a confidential, discreet and accessible location - our specialized services for orthodox Jewish women provide:
Education and sensitization on issues of spousal abuse as well as its impact on children
Individual and group counselling
Accompaniments to meetings with rabbis to help facilitate the GHET process.
Mentorship program - to counteract social isolation
Professional and compassionate support to women and children in need
Prevention programs in schools
Advocacy and support to navigate the legal and social services systems
Both our Carole and Andrew Harper Counselling Office and our shelter adhere to kosher standards. If you are in need of emergency shelter, learn more here.
