Through the years
2023-2024 Impact Report
"As we reflect on the past year, we are filled with immense admiration for the dedication and resilience of our entire community. In the face of unprecedented global turmoil, your unwavering support has been a beacon of hope and strength for all of us here at Auberge Shalom.
As if to counter this perpetual state of upheaval, the Board and staff of Auberge Shalom pour femmes (ASPF) have dug our heels in and steadied our focus on the essential pillars of our work — shelter, counselling, client programming & prevention — that empower women, children and communities to break the cycle of intimate partner violence (IPV)."
2022-2023 impact report
"The work that women and children do at Auberge Shalom (be it in our shelter, at the Carole & Andrew Harper Counselling Office or through our diverse programming) is in almost all cases an act of rebuilding. They are rebuilding healthy boundaries and their self-worth; they are seeking to reestablish a sense of normalcy in a new home, a new neighbourhood. Sometimes they are rebuilding entire social networks.
Thankfully they do not have to do it on their own. We are so proud to be part of such an intricate support system built around the needs of the women and children impacted by intimate partner violence (IPV)."
2021-2022 impact report
"Auberge Shalom is, by nature, a liminal space for our clients – whether it’s through shelter, our counselling services at the Harper Office, our education and outreach programs – we seek to provide a comfortable place for our clients during a very rough transition."
2020-2021 impact report
The news has been filled with reports of an unprecedented number of femicides, shelters having to turn women away due to COVID-19 related restrictions, and already difficult living situations becoming increasingly unbearable due to stay-at-home orders. However, even with all these challenges, we are incredibly proud that our shelter’s doors never closed. Our excellent staff were able to pivot so quickly and implement the safety protocols in shelter and continue to offer our clients virtual support & counselling services.
