Preparing for your departure

The following Safety Packing List includes recommended items to pack in a secure place, or leave with someone you trust. If you are in immediate danger, leave without them.

  • A set of home and car keys

  • Emergency cash (you might ask someone trusted to hold more cash for you)

  • Change of clothes for you and your children 

  • Your child(ren)’s favourite stuffies or toys

  • Valuable / sentimental jewellery and photos

  • Prescription medicine

  • Glasses, contact lenses, hearing aids other medical devices for you or children

  • A written copy of phone numbers or important addresses in case you cannot get to your cell phone or address book (friends and family, school, doctors, etc.)

  • Originals or copies of important documents

  • If you have a pet, we can support you with finding boarding options for pets and have an emergency boarding option with a vet.

Recognizing sign of abuse could be the first step towards a safer life.
